The HES KS210 series server case locks now support the Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) and new mechanical options.

Phoenix, Arizona – ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas Group (HES) is expanding its line of server rack locks to include Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) and mechanical options.
Patrick Hill, product manager for ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas, said that as more and more sensitive information is stored digitally, multiple layers of security need to be deployed.
“For digital data and records, we need to create additional layered physical security, from traditional doors to server cabinets, lockers, drawers and enclosures,” Hill said. “Now the need to protect various areas, fences and territories. OSDP support in the KS210 server cabinet lock means that users have a solution for total control.”
The company explained that OSDP is a Security Industry Association (SIA) standard designed to improve interoperability between access control and other security components. Under the agreement of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas Group, HES continues to use bi-directional communication between devices to provide a high level of security by constantly monitoring for attacks or other threats.
The new HES locks have been added to the General Services Administration (GSA) FIPS 201 Approved Product List (APL) with the following features:
