PHOENIX, AZ — ASSA ABLOY Open Solutions Americas group brand HES is adding to its line of server cabinet locks to include Open Supervisory Device Protocol (OSDP) and mechanical options.
As more important information is stored digitally, deploying multiple layers of security is imperative, said Patrick Hill, product manager at ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas.
“With digital data and records, we need to create additional layers of physical security, starting with traditional doors and extending to server cabinets, lockers, drawers and cabinets,” emphasizes Hill.”Different facility footprints, enclosures and areas now require protection. OSDP support in the KS210 server cabinet lock means users get a comprehensive control solution.”
The company explained that OSDP is a Security Industry Association (SIA) standard designed to improve interoperability between access control and other security components.HES continued that the ASSA ABLOY Open Solutions Americas Group protocol utilizes two-way communication between devices to provide a high level of security by continuously monitoring for attacks or other threats.
HES’ new lock is on the US General Services Administration’s (GSA) FIPS 201 Assessment Program Approved Products List (APL), and the newly added products provide the following features:
