The HES KS210 series server cabinet locks now support the Open Supervisory Device Protocol (OSDP) and new mechanical options.
Incorporating the OSDP protocol, the new HES server cabinet locks help secure critical physical assets.
PHOENIX, Arizona — ASSA ABLOY Open Solutions Americas Group brand HES is expanding its line of server cabinet locks to include Open Supervisory Device Protocol (OSDP) and mechanical options.
According to Patrick Hill, product manager for ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas, because more sensitive information is stored digitally, deploying multiple layers of security is a must.
“With digital data and records, we need to create additional layers of physical security, from traditional doors to server cabinets, lockers, drawers and cabinets,” Hill emphasizes. “Now there is a need to protect various areas, fences and areas of facilities. OSDP support in the KS210 server cabinet lock means that users get a complete management solution.”
The company explained that OSDP is a Security Industry Association (SIA) standard designed to improve interoperability between access control and other security components. HES continued: The ASSA ABLOY Open Solutions Americas Group protocol uses two-way communication between devices to provide a high level of security by constantly monitoring for attacks or other threats.
The new HES lock is on the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) FIPS 201 Approved Product List (APL) and the newly added products provide the following features:
